Our Story
Mu Epsilon Theta is a sorority formed on Catholic principles to unite college women by promoting academics, leadership, community service, and moral and spiritual wellbeing.
Mu Epsilon Theta was founded by three women, Patricia Perez, Maria Alcocer, and Evelyn Greenfield, at The University of Texas at Austin. The three founders had a dream, and through God's guidance, that dream became a reality. The Alpha Class of the Alpha Chapter was initiated on October 21, 1986. Mu Epsilon Theta was organized as a local sorority first and was then recognized as a University of Texas organization on January 16, 1987.

The sorority was formed on Catholic principles to unite strong, independent college women by promoting academics, leadership, community service, sisterhood, and moral and spiritual wellbeing. Although we were formed on Catholic principles, we accept all religious and non-religious women who would like to be a part of a faith-based and service-based sisterhood.
